The Aggressive Defense You Need

A DUI conviction can result in harsh consequences in Georgia, from fines to a license suspension to jail time in some cases. A DUI may also affect your personal and professional life, hurting your child custody case or causing you to lose your job.

As your law firm, we will work diligently to prevent a conviction and keep your criminal record clean. When we take on your case, we will investigate the following critical elements, among other factors:

  • Did police have the right to stop your vehicle?
  • Were field sobriety tests administered properly?
  • Was the breath test device calibrated correctly?
  • Is the breath or blood test evidence admissible?

As we uncover the answers to these questions, we will build the best possible defense strategy to protect your reputation, your future and your freedom.

*Recent case result: Gwinnett Recorder's Court – State of Georgia V. J.C.

Our client was charged with DUI, speeding and taillight out. Our client was a young man on the way home from work at 3 a.m. when a Gwinnett County police officer believed he was speeding, coming from the opposite direction. The officer turned around to pursue our client and tailed him to estimate his rate of speed. The officer initiated the stop for the taillight, but also cited our client for speeding. After our client consented to participate in a field sobriety test, the officer stated that he failed and asked for a breath test. Our client blew .092 at the scene and later a .077 at the jail. We vigorously went through all the evidence against our client and found inconsistencies between two police reports.

After fierce negotiations with the Gwinnett County Solicitor's Office, attorney Houston Washburn successfully negotiated a dismissal of our client's DUI, speeding and taillight charges, in exchange for a plea to reckless driving keeping the DUI off our client's record and keeping our client's license thereby saving his new job.
